Dragon Trail delivered a half-day training to Cambodia Airports’ commercial team
On 1 August 2024, Dragon Trail delivered a half-day workshop on Chinese tourism and destination marketing to Cambodia Airports in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The session was organized as part of Cambodia Airports’ increased focus on destination marketing to boost the brand awareness of Cambodia.
Dragon Trail’s Director of International Markets, William Ace Rowles, and Social Media Associate Director, Zoey Zou conducted the workshop, aimed at building a better understanding of the Chinese tourism market. The session included an overview of the Chinese outbound tourism market and its most important trends, plus an extensive destination marketing training that covered the Chinese digital landscape, branding, PR, B2B marketing, and numerous case studies.

Patrine Tay, Chief Commercial Officer of Cambodia Airports emphasized, “Keeping abreast of the changing factors that drive travel decisions is essential to promoting Cambodia effectively to the Chinese travelers. 389,360 Chinese visited Cambodia between January and June 2024, a 45.2% year-on-year increase. Chinese tourists accounted for 12% of international arrivals to Cambodia in the first half of the year, and China was Cambodia’s third largest source market, after Thailand and Vietnam.
